Finding everything under one roof is such a convenience for most shoppers these days who want to get everything they need in just one go. Whatever your shopping goals are, whether it is to buy beauty products, health supplements, or medicines, Watsons has it under one roof.
I had already been a Watsons shopper even before the pandemic but my family became even more so during the pandemic. It is so convenient for us to order everything and have it delivered by the nearest Watsons branch to our house. We got our oximeters, BP monitor, contactless infrared thermometer, and other medical supplies from Watsons as easily as we got household items like our liquid soaps, feminine personal care, and similar items. Watsons continues to change lives — one smile at a time
Growing up disfigured has a huge impact on the lives of children. Just look at these statistics.
Every 3 minutes, a child with a cleft and lip palate is born. In the Philippines, 1 in 500 children born has a cleft and lip palate condition, a gap in the mouth that did not close during the early stages of pregnancy.
Every year, about 4,500 Filipino babies are born with this condition.
As a mother, I can already imagine how this will affect children with this deformity. Very low self-esteem. Huge possibility that the child will grow up being bullied. Malnutrition, due to the inability to eat well. Poor social interaction. Limited job opportunities.
Organizations like Operation Smile Philippines (OSP) have helped children with this condition since 1982 with medical missions participated in by doctors and other medical and non-medical volunteers. For the last nine years, Watsons Philippines has partnered with OSP and, in the process, transformed the lives of 1,986 patients. This year, Watsons once again partners with OSP as part of its mission to Look Good, Do Good, Feel Good.

Good news! Watsons now offers quality and affordable COVID-19 antigen test kits!
For several months now, I had been joining my voice with that of independent health experts in calling for scaling of COVID-19 testings and tracings as the economy opens up. Like them, I believe that prolonged lockdowns alone will not help us get back on our feet. Lockdowns are supposed to be temporary measures to give the healthcare system and workers some breathing space to “catch up” during major surges.
Recently, we have been seeing a decline in cases here in the National Capital Region. We are now at Level 3 and contemplating a possible Level 2 before the end of the year. However, knowing the nature of the “beast” that is COVID-19, we know that it is airborne and, with the dominant, highly contagious Delta variant in the country, can easily infect even those who are already vaccinated. So, we can let people out, have workers return to work…..BUT we need to have quick, easy, and affordable ways to test these people so that in case they turn out positive, they can be readily isolated to prevent further infections.
RT-PCRs are just too expensive at around P4,000 per test. Employers will not be able to afford these to test their returning workers on a regular basis. More affordable and easy-to-administer rapid antigen tests that can immediately yield results are what we need.
The good news is finally here. Starting today, October 25, 2021, select Watsons stores will carry FDA-certified COVID-19 antigen test kits with a price range of only PhP 399 – PhP 500. These will also be available in ALL Watsons stores nationwide by November 25.

Watsons supports your health through its #GetActive campaign
Everyone wants to be healthy. Many know what it takes to be healthy. But so much less actually do something about becoming healthier. True?
Busyness and a hectic lifestyle gets to a lot of us and sometimes, activities meant to make us more active and healthy are set aside. In a research conducted by Watsons Insights on Shoppers Experience (WISE), a research division of the A.S. Watson Group, 66% of Filipinos believe they know about health but 57% do not exercise regularly to stay healthy. Reasons could vary from hectic work schedules to family duties, household chores, and guess what….even traffic!
These were reasons enough for Watsons to launch their #GetActive campaign. The point of this campaign is to get Filipinos active by starting with small lifestyle changes. Many who have failed to maintain an active lifestyle do so because they want to start out big (aim to be a triathlete, work out for hours at a gym, own fancy gym equipment, and similar goals. But people who fail to achieve these goals tend to slack and go back to their sedentary ways.

Watsons’ Kiss Aging Goodbye campaign helps women fight aging signs
Many beauty tips say that one should be conscious of “aging” not at 30 or 40 or 50 but as young as one’s 20s. So true!
Just think…..why do some young women already look old while some much older women do not look their age? One big factor is how their skin looks.
Our skin is the largest organ in our body, covering our entire skeletal system. The extent of care we give it will show up starting in our 40s but we can minimize those effects if we begin taking care of our skin much earlier. We can prolong the suppleness and elasticity of our skin, prevent very deep wrinkles, lessen those fine lines around the eyes and mouth, and even keep our pores closed much longer.

Experiencing the Watsons challenge to take the Switch Test
Question: If you could save up to 80% on body lotion, 60% on body scrub, and 55% on a hair iron, would you switch brand?
I would likely consider it strongly. After all, as a mother with a large family and a limited budget, little savings here and there mean I can use the savings for other things or just keep it for a rainy day.
Watsons also aimed to answer this question as they conducted switch tests in major cities around the country with unbranded booths and making customers try out two products per category — a Watsons brand and a leading competitor. So we could experience the Switch Test ourselves, they also made us go through several brand tests at a recent event.

Moms Switch and Save at Watsons
The afternoon turned out to be one I totally enjoyed as a Mom. I had an afternoon to shop around Watsons at SM The Block with mom-to-be, host, and Watsons celebrity store supervisor-for-the-day, Patty Laurel-Filart.
