Heard of The Great Resignation? The Philippines is experiencing this phenomenon as well.
The COVID-19 pandemic has really changed people’s outlook when it comes to their careers. Employees reconsider their place in their organization, home, their life’s purpose, lifestyle, personal relationships, and mental/financial/material well-being.
According to JobStreet’s 2021 Global Talent Survey, 67% of Filipino employees have chosen to prioritize their health and well-being over work. In that survey, 53% of employees also would prefer keeping a remote work set-up even if it entails additional 10 hours of extra work per week; 41% would accept a lower salary as long as they can move to a more affordable location. 46% of those who resigned were Gen Z or millennials.
JobStreet has partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in a Virtual Career Fair from June 13-17, 2022 that features a mobile-first design, allowing those who have downloaded the JobStreet app to apply as well. It is available as well on the desktop. Applicants can view their saved jobs, check out their scheduled interviews, bookmark the webinars, and send live chats directly to the hirers.
According to JobStreet, there are currently around 75,000 jobs on their site that are up for grabs. The career fair days were divided in such a way that there was better focus. The first day is allocated to work-from-home jobs. The next 2 days is region-centric (Luzon, Visayas/Mindanao). The fourth day is for entry-level jobs. And the last day is a catch-all for all types of jobs. There will be webinars on all 5 days
Candidates who will participate in the Virtual Career Fair can catch the series of webinars hosted by JobStreet’s online education partner, LUNA Academy. Applicants can pick up tips on getting ahead in the job application process, finding a dream job, and tips on crafting a good resume. Candidates who will register for the said event will also get the chance to win exciting prizes from JobStreet, varying from gift vouchers, gadgets, home-office essentials, to a staycation in Boracay.
